At the end of 2025, its volume reached 2.9 trillion rubles, an increase of 17%. At the same time, the market structure is gradually shifting towards generic and domestic drugs.
Such data are presented in the study "Drivers of Pharmaceutical Market Growth" prepared by DSM Group and Ozone Pharmaceuticals Group. According to analysts, in 2026 the market volume may exceed 3 trillion rubles.
The main growth drivers remain:
maintaining a high value of the pharmacy segment.
According to the study, prescription drugs already occupy 72% of the market. In the longer term, biotechnology will be one of the main growth factors: by 2030, the market may grow by another 1.6 times, including due to the expansion of the biosimilar segment.
Analysts also note that in 2026, the planned financing of government programs is likely to remain at the level of 2025, and the commercial segment will continue to grow, mainly due to the inflation factor. At the same time, in physical terms, the market is already showing a slowdown: in the pharmacy channel, there is no increase in packaging, and in the public procurement segment, this trend is even more pronounced.
Separately, the study noted the positions of Ozone Pharmaceuticals, which, according to DSM Group, is the market leader in sales of medicines in packages and in sales of generic drugs. In addition, in March, the company topped the Forbes rating among Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers at the end of 2025: its sales amounted to 63.6 billion rubles, and the portfolio includes 556 registration certificates.
Market growth, the development of domestic production and the increasing role of biotechnology confirm that the pharmaceutical industry remains one of the most dynamic segments of the industry.
